Hi! I’m Donnay Torr

I’m a senior editor, writer, and content wrangler based on the Central Coast, NSW. With 20+ years of media and comms experience, I’ve honed the art of purpose-driven storytelling to inspire change.

I’m curious. Courageous. Rather fond of good content: creating, communicating, and consuming it.* I’ll help you spark conversations, foster community, and nudge the status quo - just enough to make a difference.

(*Bonus: Adept at alliteration, too)

In case I come up at quiz night…

My poetry and short stories have been published in Ver in die wȇreld (Far in the world, Feb 2023, compiled by publisher and author Frederik de Jager), Nuwe Stemme 6 (New Voices 6, 2017, compiled by South-African poets Charl-Pierre Naude and Bibi Slippers) and Sterkykers: gedigte vir tieners (Star gazers: poems for teenagers, 2016, compiled by South-African children’s book author Jaco Jacobs). I also lurk in several issues of iconic Saffrican zine Ons Klyntji.

I’ve judged at the South-African Silwerskerm film festival, lectured on the use of technology in YA literature, sported blue hair during a televised panel discussion about the organic growth of language, judged teen beauty AND battle-of-the-bands contests... And almost got eaten by a shark for a ‘how to surf’ magazine feature. (I go above and beyond.)

Greatest of all? I’ve met, interviewed and crushed on Bruce ‘The Chin’ Campbell, aka Ash Williams of Evil Dead fame. My work here is done.

Who have I created for?
